U.S. Soccer wins ESPY for “Best Moment”

The United States’ 1-0 victory over Algeria in the 2010 World Cup has been named the “Best Moment” of sports during the past 12 months. The win was memorialized thanks to the now-famous goal by Landon Donovan in stoppage time. Without the goal, the USA would have been eliminated from the tournament. Instead, the USA advanced to the round of 16.

Donovan, Stu Holden, Maurice Edu, Carlos Bocanegra and other members of the USA’s Men’s National Team accepted the award.
