USA roars back to tie Solvenia 2-2
// June 18th, 2010 // Updates
Second-half goals by Landon Donovan and Michael Bradley allowed the United States to salvage an important 2-2 draw against Solvenia today in the World Cup (video highlights: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/highlights/video/video=1249730/index.html).
With two ties in the competition, the Americans now face a “must-win” scenario in their next match which is Wednesday, July 23, against Algeria.
After storming back in the second half to tie the match against Slovenia, the Americans appeared to have taken a 3-2 lead when substitute Maurice Edu found the net with four minutes to play. However, the goal was disallowed when a foul was called against Edu (according to the official FIFA play-by-play statistics).
Stu Holden was dressed and healthy for the match, but did not play.

Stu that was a pure shame. That Ref was a joke and he
tried to do you guys in! Great heart and spirit from the boys.
When we stop making the mental mistakes we will beat
all of the top teams. Sure would like to see you in there!
Good luck.
