US beats Australia in final World Cup tune-up 3-1

The US National team beat Australia today, 3-1, its final exhibition match before the start of the World Cup.

Edson Buddle scored twice for the USA, both goals coming in the first half. Second half sub Herculez Gomez scored the Americans final goal in the game’s final minutes.

Stu Holden did not play in the match as USA coach Bob Bradley continued to experiment with the line-up.

The next match for the Americans is versus England on June 12. It will be the first match in the 2010 World Cup for both teams.
