Bolton ties Portsmouth 2-2

Bolton squandered a 2-0 lead today and ultimately settled for a 2-2 draw with Portsmouth, the last place team on the English Premier League.

On the bright side, Bolton has all but secured its spot in the Premier League for next season depending on the result of the Liverpool-Burnley match on Sunday. Should Burnley lose or tie the match, Bolton will retain its space in England’s top division for the 2010-11 season.

With the tie, Bolton’s record moves to 9 wins, 18 losses and 9 ties. With 36 points, the Wanderers are in 14th place in the Premier League.
